Steve fell in love with the diving watching the olympics and diving off the cliffs in La Jolla. As a freshmen he joined the Varsity Diving Team at Monte Vista High School. With no coach to guide him, he competed and performed well in CIF each year. Steve coached the Monarchs for seven years after high school while helping to develop two top divers in San Diego. After a break from the sport, Steve became the proud coach of the Poway High School Dive Team when his son started swimming. Steve also co-coaches the the local club diving team San Diego Diversity Diving. Steve encourages a fun yet safe diving environment. He is a very positive and supportive coach that enjoys seeing athletes learn from their experiences on the boards to help them succeed in all facets of life. "Diving is 90% mental... 99% of divers are mental." Embrace it and have fun!
